Brian Lurie, MD, MPH (he/him)
Brian Lurie, MD MPH, joined Hasbro Children’s Hospital as the pediatric residency program director in May, 2023. Dr. Lurie graduated from Tufts University and received his medical degree from The Sackler School of Medicine, New York State American Program in Tel Aviv, Israel. He went on to complete his residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York and obtain his Masters of Public Health from Columbia University. Dr. Lurie has dedicated his career to academic medicine, serving as the Pediatric Residency Associate Program Director at three institutions, most recently Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. In Charlotte, Dr. Lurie also served as the Division Director of General Academic Pediatrics. He has also served in regional and national leadership positions for organizations such as the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the Academic Pediatric Association. Dr. Lurie’s sense of purpose is centered around advancing health for children through equity-focused leadership, medical education, and faculty development. Much of his scholarly work involves developing curricula caring for LGBTQA+ youth. Other interests include promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in academic medicine and working with underserved populations.
