Graduate: New York Medical College (GHHS)
Desiree was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in East Brunswick, NJ since she was in high school. She attended Binghamton University where she majored in neuroscience and graduated with a Bachelor or Science degree in 2012. After graduation, she enrolled in a Post-bac Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Desiree returned to East Brunswick, NJ the following year, where she worked as a preschool teacher. Her role as an educator helped revitalize her passion and commitment to working with the youth. Throughout her time at NYMC, she continued to serve the youth through various community and global outreach organizations. She knew Brown would be a great fit because of the mix of support and autonomy, the down to earth faculty she met, and the strong commitment to global/refugee health. She is looking forward to exploring the culture and cuisine RI has to offer. In her spare time she loves to travel, cook new dishes, spend time with family, and is an avid Youtube watcher!
