Medical School: Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell (AOA and GHHS)

Heather was born in England and moved to Maryland when she was 10 years old. She went to college at Cornell University, where she studied Biology & Society and Spanish and got involved with peer counseling and volunteer work with migrant farmworkers. After college, she spent a few years doing gene therapy research at Weill Cornell, working as a medical assistant, taking post-bacc classes at UMD, and doing hematology research at BUSM. During medical school at the Zucker SOM at Hofstra/Northwell, she was a leader of the Community Service Committee and then the Student-Run Free Clinic and she hopes to keep working on outreach, service, and advocacy efforts! She is excited to train in pediatrics at Brown because of the diverse, supportive community and amazing educational opportunities. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, drawing comics, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with her husband and her cat, Melina!
