Liza is a native Rhode Islander and excited to be returning for Triple Board training in her hometown of Providence. She received her MD and MPH in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences in May 2017 from Tulane University. While at Tulane she was a member of the Combined MD/MPH Degree Merit-Based Scholarship Award. She also received an American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Summer Medical Student Fellowship and was a Tulane Klingenstein Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Medical Student Fellowship Scholar. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago. She initially became interested in pediatrics and infant mental health during college when she began working as a volunteer “cuddler” in the NICU at Comer Children’s Hospital. Between college and medical school she worked at Bradley Hospital in East Providence, RI as a milieu therapist on the children’s inpatient unit, which solidified her interest in child and adolescent psychiatry. Liza chose Brown for its excellent pediatrics and psychiatry training, coupled with wonderful mentorship and innovative approaches to providing care to children and families, and unique training opportunities specific to care of infants and very young children. In her free time she enjoys playing soccer, rock climbing, hiking, traveling and taking walks with her two dogs.
