Mashfiq Hasan, MD (he/him)
Undergraduate: Brown University
Medical School: New York Medical College (GHHS)
Mashfiq was born in New York City, moved to Bangladesh for several formative years, and then returned to the states to attend Brown University. At Brown, he met amazing mentors and friends, taught children health lessons, conducted neurodevelopmental research with tadpoles, and became a big fan of the Ocean State. He then worked for a year at Bradley Hospital with the Rhode Island Consortium for Autism Research and Treatment and taught children Quran and Arabic at the Islamic Center of RI before moving to NY for medical school. At NYMC, he found great role models who combined excellent pediatric clinical care with teaching, advocacy, research, humanism, and compassion. This cemented his desire to become a pediatrician. He is excited to be back in Providence and to be training with the amazing pediatric team at Hasbro. His clinical interests include emergency medicine, critical care, and gastroenterology. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys reading, watching soccer highlights and cartoons, spending time with his friends and family (and cats!), and all things food.
