Roger Auth, MD
Undergraduate: University of Maryland, College Park
Medical School: University of Maryland
Roger was born and raised in Maryland, and is a die-hard Terp fan. In medical school, he spent a summer abroad in Hong Kong studying palliative and end-of-life care. This experience taught me about some of the limitations of modern medicine and the importance taking every patient’s personal experience, spirituality, socioeconomics, and family dynamic into account when practicing medicine. During his 3rd year clerkships, he developed an interest in working to improve the transition of care from pediatric to adult medicine for children with chronic illnesses. Med-Peds was a perfect fit for him, and Brown was his first choice for residency because of how warm and welcoming all the faculty and staff are. In his free time, he enjoys reading, being outdoors, surfing, paddle boarding, running, biking, swimming, trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Valerie. He also plays multiple musical instruments, and loves “jamming” with other musicians.
