Winn Timothy

Tim Winn, MD (he/him)

Position: PGY-1
Tim is from East Islip, NY, and was a trumpet player and music nerd growing up. He attended Stony Brook University and graduated with a dual major in computer science and applied mathematics before working in the defense industry on radar and encryption systems for five years. He then worked as a barista and later a mental health worker while attending the MGH Institute of Health Professions where he obtained an accelerated bachelors degree in nursing. This led to five rewarding years working in the neonatal ICU in the Greater Boston area. His time as a nurse led him to pursue a career in medicine, and he was humbled to attend University of Massachusetts Medical School before matching into emergency medicine here at Brown. During his PICU rotation as an EM intern, he was reminded of what he loved about caring for children and their families from his time as a NICU nurse, and he is incredibly grateful to remain at Brown to train in pediatrics at Hasbro. Tim hopes to pursue a career in pediatric critical care after residency. Outside of the hospital, Tim enjoys quiet nights at home, good food, coffee, and tea, the NY Mets, HBO, time with his partner and their cat, and any opportunity to see family and friends.
